Sandals and Boots is a new boutique candle company that sells luxuriously hand-poured candles that will awaken your senses to the best aromas found in an elegant amber jar. Loving the vibe of the Caribbean seas mixed with the upscale, urban living found in Texas, the name Sandals and Boots is a nod to these two lifestyles.

Each candle is made with all natural ingredients, such as coconut soy and beeswax. And because the brand seeks to protect the consumer and the environment, each candle is also sustainable and eco-friendly, with zero carcinogens and chemical compounds.

I started with creating the branding elements for this client. She already had the name of her brand and a variety of scents available and was in need of creating labels for her jars. When she explained to me the reasoning behind the name, I sought to take her scents and put them in either the “Sandals” cataegory (beachy, Caribbean seas feeling) or the “Boots” category (Texas).

From there, I selected the color palette that reflected the feeling of each and was able to design her jar labels accordinlgy. The names of each scent was done by the client and I captured the elegance of her brand by using simple, timeless typography.

The client expressed her desire to have her own website with which to sell her products and I suggested Squarespace with its easy to use e-commerce elements. Such elements include the calculation of shipping charges to wherever you want to ship (within the continental US or international) from your zip code and an app that calculates sales tax for you per state (check with your accountant to see where you’re elegible to charge sales tax). Squarespace also offers easy way to run sales, offer discount coupons, or have a “free shipping” promo to boost sales.
