Transform Your Understanding with “The 3:15 Papers”

The 3:15 Papers is a quick start guide that seeks to accomplish two things:

1. Help the reader understand and solidify his/her life a Biblical worldview.

2. Taking the framework of this Biblical Worldview, its purpose is to also introduce the Christian reader to apologetics (making a case for, and defending the truth of Christianity); knowing what you believe and possessing the ability to say why.

The client compiled all his research and sources into one large Word document, complete with titles, subtitles, headings and paragraphs. He was looking for a way to present this literature to anyone that needed it in a way that was more fluid and attractive. He also requested it in digital format to override printing costs. The most attractive solution was to design a fixed EPUB publication where anyone could read on their iPad/tablet or desktop computer.

Font selection was based on the reader’s ability to read on screen versus print. There is a difference. In normal EPUB styles, font selection doesn’t matter as readers are able to select their own fonts and sizes to adjust to their Kindle or MOBI and with that, it inevitably changes the layout or the flow of each chapter. Because I didn’t want the flow to be interrupted as the image selection was ligned up to go with the text, I made the design decision to have this in a “fixed” format and therefore, my font selection had to be one that is easy on the eyes when reading in digital format. Body text was done in Avenir and title/subtitle, and pull quote text was done in Unna.

The color palette was selected was based on it having a modern look without it being too overbearing. I didn’t want that to distract from the message within.  

The publication includes clickable links to outside sources and links within to allow the reader to move from place to place freely without having to search how to get there.
